Platforms
Mark::Blocks is built on Metro UI / Modern Design, covering a whole generation of Windows devices.

Windows 8.1+
The main battleground: desktops, tablets and 2-in-1 devices. Offers the full Split View write/preview experience and is the best platform to experience Mark::Blocks.
- Synchronized scrolling across both panes on wide screens.
- Smooth transitions between file tabs.
- Accent color can follow the system.
Windows RT 8.1+
ARM devices (Surface RT, Surface 2, Nokia Lumia 2520). Because the architecture matches, the Windows project’s full feature set works as-is — just switch the build platform to ARM.
Note: Windows RT can no longer receive new apps through the Store; deploy via sideloading with a developer license.
Windows Phone 8.1+
The phone experience is designed for small screens:
- Clean write / clean preview: switch between two independent modes instead of a cramped split.
- Immersive mode: hides the file tabs to maximize editing space.
- The home screen shows recent files as tiles, true to tile interaction.
Rendering Consistency
All three platforms share one Markdown rendering pipeline: MarkDig parses → IE11 WebView renders the preview → highlight.js / KaTeX / Mermaid handle code, formulas and diagrams. Differences are limited to layout and interaction.
